General Description
The Macon Housing Authority (MHA) owns properties throughout Macon and Bibb County, Georgia. The Anthony Homes development in Macon has approximately 2,160 linear feet of 78″ corrugated metal pipe (CMP) and 420 linear feet of 66″ CMP that pass storm-water from offsite through the project. The pipes, which were originally designed and installed in 1966, were scheduled for replacement in 2010. Multiple utilities encroached on the footprint of the project, including underground fiber, sanitary sewer, power, cable, light poles, and water services. Two road crossings and a driveway are also in the path of the pipe replacement.

Innovative Concepts
The MHA retained TPE to produce design drawings and specifications for the pipe replacements. TPE also subcontracted a survey of the pipe system and the local utilities, and prepared the construction plans for replacing the pipes. Construction was completed in the spring of 2011.
